  • ²Suncorp NetSetGO Coaching Workshops FREE - Townsville City Netball Association invites your Net Set Go players and coaches to join us for a short, informal coaching clinic while you are with us for the Future Diamonds Carnival. We have a team of accredited coaches who are looking forward to working with you to improve your knowledge of the program, give you practical advice and tips on how to get the best from your players and while we are at it, help our Future Diamonds develop their skills and love of the game. It will be a fun and relaxed environment and is an opportunity for us to share our knowledge and experience with as much of our region as we can. Please join us!

    • Opening Ceremony8am. All teams to assemble on court 8 for Opening Ceremony and Warm Up Dance. Have your team chant ready for opening ceremony and your dancing shoes as we are all going to do the NetSetGO! dance.
    • Games to commence at 8.30am and carnival will conclude at approx. 3pm
    • Teams are welcome to erect shade for the day at your own risk. Please erect away from the courts for safety of the players.
    • Please be sun safe on and off the court. Players on court must wear a soft brim hat.
    • Number of games played will be dependent on number of teams nominating. Round robin event for fun and enjoyment. Draw will be available on the TCNAI website and MyNetball App.
  • Games will be played in the following age divisions and rules
    • Pink Diamonds 7 to 10 years – Brand new players

      As per NetSetGO 8-10yrs rules.

      Goal post – 2.4m (8ft) in height

      Ball – size 4

      Time to pass the ball – 5 seconds

      Stepping – Shuffling on the spot to regain balance allowed without moving down the court.

      Defending – Strict ‘one-on-one’ defence. Players may defend a shot at goal.

      Obstruction – A player must defend from a distance no less than 1.2m (4ft)

      Substitutions – The game time should be evenly distributed amongst all players. A team (up to 10 players is recommended) may make unlimited substitutions at intervals or at any time during play. Players should experience all positions over the course of the carnival.

      Centre Pass – The initial centre pass will be taken by the team that won the toss and all other centre passes shall be taken by the team that did not score the last goal.

      Umpiring - Team coach

       

    • Blue Diamonds 7 to 10 years  - 1 – 2 years NetSetGO experience

    • Purple Diamonds – up to 10 years - Ready to play full netball rules

      – Proper rules, full height posts, with coaches/umpires umpiring.

       

  • Players, coaches, and parents are reminded that there is a no tolerance policy regarding unsportsman like behaviour. Remember the Code of Conduct.
  • Rubbish – Help us help you by keeping the grounds tidy. Clean up your areas on a regular basis so that at the end of the day it isn’t a big job!
  • If at any time during the carnival, there are any concerns or issues, please see the TCNAI officials at the desk or find a Volunteer. We will try and resolve to the best of our ability.
  • Wet weather – Advice will be placed on our website and Facebook page
  • BBQ and canteen will be available all day.
